Even though we grew up on opposite sides of the world, great food and service have always been a big part of our lives and quickly became our passion and professions. Food has allowed us to travel and given us unique experiences, which led us to a small French Bistro in Nashville, where we met. 

As we came together to create this company, and the next generation of Thompsons, we have taken our love for food and service from professional to personal. For us, it is all about connecting with people and taking care of them.

Rodney and Gemma Thompson

Chef Rodney Thompson graduated from the New England Culinary Institute in 2000. He began his career as an Executive Chef working in kitchens spanning from Florida, Oregon, California, and New York to expand his culinary expertise before settling in Tennessee.

In Nashville, Rodney continued his career working in fine dining restaurants.

After several years Rodney decided he wanted to combine his passion for cooking and his desire for personal interaction during cooking, so in 2010 he started Two Thompsons Catering with his family.  Rodney has catered for Award-winning box office movies, top executive producers, Grammy award-winning musicians, and other notable special events.

Two Thompsons Catering has since evolved into The Thompsons Kitchen, combining both special event catering and the addition of a unique food truck service. The Thompsons Kitchen combines the skills of Rodney and his wife Gemma to create a unique and distinctive catering experience.

Gemma has over 20 years of experience working in the hospitality and customer service industry in hotels, restaurants, and events.

The Thompsons “Greener” Kitchen
